To become a member of les Amis d’Orsay involves,
Sharing your love and interest in the arts of the 1848-1914 period,
Contributing to its donations, and creating bonds of friendship
between figures of the art world and le Musée d’Orsay.

True to this motto, the Friends’ organization was established in 1980 by enlightened art lovers in order to
support the museum’s project. Le Musée d’Orsay was subsequently opened in 1986.

Today, the organisation counts 600 members. Benefits for Members include free priority access to the
permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, an exclusive programme of activities, and participation
in previews upon invitation.
